Hybrid cloud use has surged to 68% across the UK and Ireland, but most organisations still lack full visibility over what they’re spending. Only a third of cloud projects hit every goal, revealing a costly gap between ambition and delivery. Legacy systems remain a drag on modernisation, with 71% citing outdated tech as a barrier to innovation. Despite this, nearly half say management isn’t prioritising migration. The rise of managed service providers hints at a solution, boosting project success rates and helping teams stay on track. Yet without smarter financial oversight – FinOps-style integration of finance, engineering, and business teams – many are flying blind. As cloud adoption accelerates, the real opportunity lies in better governance and sharper ROI clarity.
